Mr. McGee is an attorney in the Information Security and Internet
Enforcement Group of Sonnenschein's Washington, D.C. office. Mr. McGee
represents and counsels domestic and international organizations of all
sizes, from technology startups to Fortune e-50 companies. Mr. McGee's
practice involves advising clients on, among other things, Internet
privacy, Information Security and the protection and commercialization
of intellectual property rights. In addition to counseling on
transactional matters, Mr. McGee advises clients on matters of corporate
formation and maintenance, and the potential benefits and risks
associated with litigation. Mr. McGee has experience in all phases of
litigation, both state and federal.
Mr. McGee's experience includes investigating and litigating against intellectual property theft; performing security and privacy audits; responding to FTC inquiries regarding companies' information policies and practices; drafting all types of agreements, including software licenses, terms of use, click-wrap agreements, privacy and security policies, and other legal notices; and general counseling regarding liability risks associated with doing business on the Internet. Mr. McGee -- a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) -- has a strong background in computers and the Internet, including working as a programmer, consultant and instructor. He graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1994, and received his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati in 1998, where he was a student articles editor for the University of Cincinnati Law Review. Mr. McGee was admitted to the Bars in Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., and remains active in both Virginia and D.C. Mr. McGee is a member of the Computer Law Association and has served on the International Trademark Association's (INTA) Special Committee on the Internet and Meetings Committee. His publications include Developments in Information Security Law, publication for AICCI 2004 Meeting (coauthored with Christian Genetski); Liability for Unsecured Computer Systems, a White Paper for Corporate Counsel's Directory of Top 250 Companies, American Lawyer Media, December, 2003 (coauthored with Marc J.
